Sale of Range Passes for 2024 is in full swing.
SOLD ONLY DURING CANTEEN HOURS 3:00pm-10pm.
PREPLANNING IS CRITICAL.

THE GATE AND FENCE ARE IN PLACE!
To access the range, in addition to a current Post membership, you will need a paid range membership and gate key. Cost for a year is $50.00 and may be gotten in the canteen during normal operating hours. The key may NOT be duplicated nor loaned out. Use of the range area for any purpose by a member requires possession of a range pass. Use of the handgun range requires possession of a range pass. (At some future time, it will be fenced as well.)  Visitor policies remain in effect. If challenged on the range, one must be able to show their Post and Range membership and key. If a guest, the sponsor must be present. 
Violation of any range rules may result in a lifetime ban from all range activities.

      GENERAL FIREARM SAFETY RULES
(APPLIES TO ALL RANGE ACTIVITIES)

RANGE HOURS ARE 8:00 A.M. TO DUSK
.
1. All guns are always treated as if loaded.
 
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
 
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
 
4. Always be sure of your target and what is beyond.

Full-Auto and full-auto clones (if it sounds like full-auto, it falls in this category) may only be fired with written authorization of the Post Board, signed by the Post Commander and co-signed by the Range Committee Chairman. The board meets the third Thursday of each month at 1930 hours. Written requests must reach the board prior to that time.

NOTE: Long Gun Range: Designated firing line is at the 100 yard line from the backstop (approximately 30 yards South of the shelter). NO ONE MAY BE FORWARD OF ANY PERSON FIRING FROM ANY DISTANCE AT ANY TIME! ABSOLUTELY NO FIRING FROM NORTH OF THE 100 YARD LINE. ALL TARGETS WILL BE PLACED WITHIN FIVE (5) FEET OF THE BACKSTOP AND BE NO MORE THAT SIX (6) FEET TO THE TOP. The 5’ requirement from the backstop is waived for organized shoots managed by a certified range officer.

NOTE: Hand gun range: ALL TARGETS WILL BE PLACED AS NEAR THE BACKSTOP AS POSSIBLE AND BE NO MORE THAN SIX (6) FEET TO THE TOP.  ABSOLUTELY NO FIRING FROM UNDER THE SHELTER OR ON THE ASPHALT AREA! NO PARKING IN THE FIRE LANE IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE SHELTER - ALL SIDES! ABSOLUTELY NO HIGH POWER FIREARMS!  (i.e. non-pistol caliber handguns such as AR Platform pistols in 5.56mm NATO or .223 Remington, etc.).OR PISTOL CALIBER RIFLES, such as 9mm or .45 acp carbines, etc. No shotguns except with Post permission during scheduled events.

RANGE RESERVATIONS MAY BE REQUESTED BY CALLING OR VISITING THE CANTEEN.

BEFORE THE THIRD VISIT THEY MUST BECOME A MEMBER!

Range and/or meeting room rental for organized events such as classes conducted by an instructor certified by a National or State Gun Rights Organization like SAFTEA, NRA or OPOTA may be arranged through the canteen. Visitor policies are suspended for organized events.

THE LONG GUN AND PISTOL RANGES WILL BE CLOSED ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS DUE TO VFW FUNCTIONS OR RENTALS
Additional Dates will be announced when available.
